Green Bamboo: Fresh Vietnamese Flavors and Warm Hospitality in Valley Ridge, Calgary

I’m really happy to see this restaurant reopen under a new name and management. The change has made a big difference. The Asian dishes were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Portions were generous—the regular size was plenty, and the large was really large. They also offered complimentary tea, which was a thoughtful touch. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels much better than before. To anyone in the neighborhood who had a bad experience with the previous restaurant: give this place another try. The new team has genuinely improved both the food and the service.My only suggestion for management is to give the place a deeper clean. The table we sat at had a TV mounted near it, and the TV had noticeable dust from previous years. A bit more attention to this would make the experience even better.

Generous bowl, looks absolutely divine. The rich, steaming broth promises deep savory flavor, perfectly complementing the variety of tender cuts: the thinly sliced rare beef and the flavorful flank. Sprinkled liberally with fresh cilantro, green onions, and a scattering of sprouts hidden beneath, it is a comforting and aromatic masterpiece. ​Their spring rolls are crispy, textured wrappers suggest a wonderful crunch, giving way to a savory, satisfying filling. Served neatly on a dark platter with a garnish of shredded vegetables, they provide the perfect textural contrast to the comforting warmth of the Pho. This pairing is a truly delicious and well-balanced culinary experience. Their warm welcome is also the best!!!!

Staff said the Bun Bo Hue was on special and recommended it - it was indeed amazing. I’ve tried Bun Bo Hue all over and this is the best one I’ve had in Calgary. Great flavours and ingredients. Staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant itself is relatively new, well decorated, clean and spacious. Do yourself a favour and check this place out if you’re into Vietnamese food.

A welcome change in the neighborhood. Flavorful food and awesome drink options. Seems like some of the negative reviews were from takeout orders, which might not do the food justice. I encourage everyone to come in and give them a shot as when dining in everything was great. Will be returning.

Pleasantly surprised! They are new owners that previously owned a restaurant in Kelowna. We tried the chicken salad rolls, beef & chicken vermicelli, and a beef pho. Everything was quite good. The peanut sauce was delicious. The portions were huge, we took away quite a bit. Super friendly staff with good English that was happy to help with everything. Happy to have a new restaurant in Valley Ridge.

First time here at Green Bamboo and it was great! The service was amazing, they were really kind and respectful, the food was so delicious! The restaurant was clean and a great place to catch up with friends.

Welcome to the neighbourhood! We’re so happy you’re here. Green Bamboo has saved us all from the evil VanGogh’s! I took my family here for dinner and we had a great time. It seemed as if the whole community was celebrating their arrival. The food was great, the family running the place was happy and attentive. We tried the spring rolls, green onion cakes, some soup and vermicelli bowls and everything got great reviews. I even tried to take pictures but the kids got to it before I could! This place is going to be wildly busy.
